It is with sadness that I announce the passing of former Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'Anno, dead today at the age of 66. I discovered Maiden in 1981 and for me he would forever be Iron Maiden's true vocalist. He brought a punk attitude to a metal band which was just what this kid weaned on Motorhead was looking for. I saw him some years later, and now some years ago, as a solo artist and he was still great. Lived a hard life and stayed true till the end. 17 May 1958 - 21 October 2024 RIP
